Kishan
Drives an e-rickshawLoses hours of income a day to a battery that dies without warning, and a range he cannot plan around. Half his earnings go on charging and repairs.
A smart pack on subscription — ₹0 down, topped up between rides. Four trips a day became eight, and the empty run home now carries somebody's shopping.
Gita
Runs an organic farmGood harvests spoil waiting on transport. Taking them to the Mandi herself costs a day and more than the margin; selling at the gate means whatever the middleman offers.
She lists the harvest the morning it is picked and sells inside her own district — named as the grower, at her own price, delivered the same day on the fleet already passing her gate.
Kavita
Started a business in the villageWeeks lost waiting on parts and materials no shop within fifty kilometres stocks. Every order she wins is a gamble on whether supply arrives before the customer gives up.
She sources from wholesalers and makers across the district, and sells back out through a storefront that reaches blocks no distributor would ever service.
Savitri
Came back to the villageHer children left for the cities, where the work is. She tried city life after her husband died and could not settle in it, so she came home — to a village where everything she needs is fifteen kilometres away and there is nobody to fetch it.
She photographs a handwritten parchi, or simply says the list out loud. A driver from her own panchayat brings it to her door, and she pays the way she always has.
And together, a village that pays itself
Kishan’s rickshaw carries Gita’s vegetables to the block market and Savitri’s shopping home on the return. Kavita’s parts arrive on the same run. Each of them is somebody else’s customer, and the money that used to leave the district on every transaction stays inside it — moved, every kilometre of it, without burning a drop of diesel.
